As much as we would love to hang out with each and every one of you, it is a working farm and our time is very valuable. Since our community is so dear to us, we do have open farm days 1-2 days per year including a plant sale in the spring. Sign up for our newsletter of follow us on Instagram @stompinggroundherbals to stay in the loop.
I get this question a lot since I used to teach classes. As much as I enjoy my community, I have bad social anxiety and am introverted, so I am not the best teacher. I love sharing knowledge, but not in a formal setting. I do have a Pattern where we study a new plant each month and create our own Materia Medica.
All herbs used in our products are grown on our farm using organic methods, sourced from local farms we trust, or sustainably wild-crafted unless otherwise stated. We strive to tread lightly and give back to the earth by using organic, and regenerative farming methods.
We offer CSH sign ups beginning in December of every year and close them when we sell out, or in March- whichever comes first.
Yes! In an effort to be as sustainable a business as possible, we can made the choice to have our apothecary be off grid. We run on solar with the exception of our propane stove, have a composting toilet, and grey water system. We heat with wood in the winter, but never cut down trees for our warmth. We make it a point to collect fallen trees from our neighborhood after storms to give them a second life.

Little beads in your deo or salve? This is a completely natural occurence. Shea butter is full of fatty acids and temperature fluctuations can cause the fats to combine. Does this affect how the deodorant works? Absolutely not! Shea butter melts at our body's natural temperature, so as soon as you apply it, it will smooth right out. If you want to smooth the deo back out, remove the lid (never put metal in the microwave!) and pop in the microwave for 10 seconds. Give it a stire, then place in the fridge for it to firm back up.
